Step 2: My Sacred Step-by-Step Ritual
Before I share how to energize 1 mukhi rudraksha, here are two sanctified rules that I ask my followers to note:
- Perform the energization process on Monday during the Brahma Muhurta (early morning hours).
- Take a bath and wear light-coloured clothes (preferably white) before you start the activation process.
1: Sankalp
Sit gently on an asana and prepare to invoke Lord Shiva:
- Keep facing the East direction.
- Pour a few drops of water in your right palm and say your name, followed by your gotra (if known).
- State your purpose (that is, to energize the ek mukhi rudraksha) and ask for peace, blessings, and spiritual progress.
2: Rudraksha Purification
Keep the ek mukhi rudraksha in a small bowl and perform the following:

- Wash it gently with clean water or Ganga Jal
- Dip it for a while in raw cow milk
- Bathe it in Panchamrit (Ensure your hand movements are soft and gentle)
- Rinse thoroughly with Ganga Jal and pat it dry.
- Now, keep the clean rudraksha on a plate over akshat and a clean cloth.
3: Worship and Offerings
Once I ensure my bead is clean, I offer all my gathered materials with love and full devotion to Lord Shiva and the rudraksha:
- Chandan (sandalwood paste)
- Bel patra and flowers
- Ghee diya
- Incense sticks and dhoop sticks
- Akshat (rice grains)
- Lastly, I drop some milk or water as Abhishekam
4: Mantra Japa (Chanting of Sacred Mantras)
Through all these years of Rudraksha energization experience, I know the act is guided by Shakti. It is a delicate and complex process.
Once the sacred offerings are made, it’s time to awaken divine Shakti through mantra chanting and prayers. Below are my top three mantras and their number of chant times for your better understanding:
- Beej Mantra of Ek Mukhi Rudraksha: Om Hreem Namah
This beej mantra invokes the energies of Lord Shiva within the ek mukhi rudraksha. Chant this mantra 108 times.
- Shiva Moola Mantra: Om Namah Shivaya
This is one of my favourite mantras to feel closer to the divine Lord Shiva. You can chant this moola mantra as many times as per your devotion. But remember to chant a minimum of 108 times.
- Rudraksha Dhyaan Mantra or Shloka:
Ekamukhaṃ mahāvīryaṃ śivarūpaṃ śubhapradam।
Dhāraṇāt sarvapāpaghnaṃ sarvasiddhipradāyakam॥
This dhyaan shloka defines the essence of the ek mukhi rudraksha. I generally recommend the auspicious counts of 11, 21, or 27 times during the energization process.
✅Here’s my quick tip to get the maximum benefits of the sacred communion with Shakti:
- Chant the dhyan mantra 11 times for a sincere and short energizing process.
- Chant it for 21 or 27 times for deeper intentions of spiritual alignment.
🕉️Mantra suggestion: Once you decide the number of chants of the rudraksha dhyaan mantra, follow it with 108 chants of the beej mantra. I practice this to infuse maximum energy into my rudraksha.
Step 3: Aarti and Closing Prayers
This step unfolds your gratitude to the ultimate divine:
- Light up the camphor
- Offer aarti to both the rudraksha and Lord Shiva. (You can sing or simply recite the ‘Om jai shiv onkara…’. )
- Pray to Lord Shiva to reside in your rudraksha and guide you spiritually.
Step 4: Wearing the Rudraksha
From my first-hand experience, I can tell you that if all the above-mentioned rituals are fulfilled from the heart, the rudraksha is infused with spiritual energy. Then:
- Keep the bead undisturbed for the next 24 hours
- At this time, it will absorb the cosmic energies invoked during the mantra chanting.
✅My quick tip: If your rudraksha bead doesn’t have a hole, read my guide to learn how to make a hole in rudraksha at home and preserve the spiritual connection to the spinal cord!

- Continue Regular Mantra Japa or Chanting: With my daily mantra japa, I keep the energy field active.
🕉️ Manifestation Tip: To be blessed by Lord Shiva’s divine energy, I usually ask my followers to chant Om Hreem Namah or Om Namah Shivaya daily for a minimum of 11 to 21 times. However, it will be beneficial if you are able to do it 108 times daily.
- Avoid Frequent Handling by Others: My rudraksha is attuned to my aura. Therefore, to date, I have not allowed anyone to touch it!
- Create a Daily Connection: All my years of sadhna have made my spiritual bond stronger with the rudraksha. Before I start my day, I offer a short mental prayer and thank and bow to the energised bead.
- Cleanse It Periodically To Refresh Your Rudraksha Shakti: I highly recommend regular purification of the ek mukhi rudraksha:
- Rinse the bead gently with raw cow milk or Ganga jal.
- Apply a few drops of natural oil or sandalwood to it.
